Guglielmo is Whitefin’s First Mate. He discovered the love for sailing when, as a boy, he used to explore the bays around Lošinj island (Croatia) by dinghy. Guglielmo graduated summa cum laude in mechanical engineering from the University of Padova, where he was member of the Academic Sailing Team. He has a great experience of sailing on both private and charter yachts in the Adriatic, Ionian, Ligurian and Tyrrhenian seas. He is qualified as a Yacht Master 200GT by the Royal Yachting Association, with British Commercial Endorsement and STCW95.
On Whitefin, Guglielmo is the second in command. He is in charge of the ship manoeuvres, including setting the sails, mooring, anchoring and driving the tender. He also enjoys ensuring every guest has a safe and pleasant experience whilst on board. When the yacht is in port, he is responsible for the maintenance, including rigging, mechanical/plumbing systems, wooden deck and brasses.
In winter Guglielmo is a master student at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. In his free time, he plays the clarinet. He loves engaging with different cultures. Native Italian, he speaks English, French and Spanish. His personality is affable and cheerful.
Guglielmo has developed Whitefin website!
